IT Technical Assistant
(Position Reference #RSP 001)
The IT Technical Assistant is responsible for ongoing deployment, testing and maintenance of IT applications in support of the company’s business initiatives. The IT Technical Assistant must be comfortable excelling in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with the ability to work within a heterogeneous environment. You will be working with a team of search engine marketing professionals, software developers, and content developers to deliver in a deadline dependent environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working closely with platform developers to assist in development requirements.
- Working with senior network administrator in platform deployment.
- Analyze and troubleshoot outage situations and correct errors as required.
- Independently test and deploy server solutions.
- Independent Procurement of external resources for deployment
- Continuously analyze server solutions, and propose changes for improvement.
- As new technologies emerge, learn these technologies quickly and work with the team to integrate these technologies with our systems.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- 1-3 years’ of hands-on deployment in Windows Server 2005/2008 environment.
- 1-3 years’ of hands-on deployment in Linux (centos 4.6 and above) server environment.
- Ability to manage and support multiple server deployments in a 99999 infrastructure.
- Familiar with VMware Enterprise solutions.
- Familiar with SAN/NAS storage solutions.
- 1-3 years’ experience with TCP/IP troubleshooting.
- Comfortable in a CLI Linux environment using cron, iptables, and apache.
- Excellent oral and written communication is a must.
- Exceptionally organized self-starter who can work independently, execute quickly and move to the next task.
- Manage multiple assignments and prioritize work while meeting deadlines.
- Superb attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst, Routers, and ASA’s.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
- Experience with HP Procurve’s.
- Experience with IIS.
