Web Designer

We are looking for a multimedia designer and conceptual thinker who lives and breathes the web. You’ll join our team in Guelph, ON, in the brainstorming, design and production of new web sites, templates and interfaces.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years workplace experience and/or training in website design and production.
- Comprehensive understanding of interactivity and the web and web applications.
- Keen awareness of the challenges and possibilities of web design, web specifications and usability.
- Designing page templates, mock-ups, site navigation, and storyboards for our Web Application. Strong communications skills.
- Cutting up and optimizing graphics, creating HTML templates, creating CSS2 style sheets, positioning page elements using CSS, testing across supported platforms.
- Continuous refinement of designs to ensure the best possible user experience.
- Incorporate various forms of feedback to optimize designs and maximize revenue.
- Solid experience/skills using these design tools: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, HTML editors like Dreamweaver.
- Solid grasp of HTML and CSS.
Other Skills or Experience we’d like to see:
- Some logo/identity design experience is a plus.
- Some print and prepress design & production experience is a plus.
- Experience with templating, ‘theming’ and/or creating “skins” for large dynamic websites is a big plus.
- Experience with video, motion graphics and/or Flash is a plus.
- Some knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX/XML/XSLT, and/or web scripting (PHP, PERL, Ruby, ASP.NET, etc.) is a definite plus, but not required.
